It is with immense pride and gratitude that we celebrate the 16 th anniversary of our journey. What began as a vision to make a meaningful difference has, over these years, transformed into a story of growth, resilience, and collective achievement.

16 years ago, we started the journey of SBS, fuelled by a pure vision to create something meaningful, to grow with integrity, and to contribute value that lasts, but this vision of mine, started in 1999, as an article student. Today, as SBS celebrates its 16 th anniversary, I take a brief pause to look back my journey of 26 years, on what has made it extraordinary: the people who believed in us and stood with us, the challenges that pushed us, and the achievements that inspired us to move further.

This anniversary is not just a marker of time; it is a reaffirmation of our mission to keep learning, keep growing, and keep making a difference. As we look at the road ahead, we do so with the same passion that began this journey 16 years ago.

I am also happy to inform that, this year, we have further spread our wings, and ventured in to the UAE, handling various taxation issues, and I would like to place my sincere thanks to our UAE clients, for reposing the confidence on us.

This anniversary is much more special for me, as both of my principals Mr. L.R. Subba Reddy and Mr. N. Venkateswarlu, under whom, I have worked, have written conveyed their blessings in the form of Forewords. I sincerely thank them for their kind words.

On this milestone, we renew our pledge to continue this journey with the same passion and commitment that have brought us this far and, in those lines, this anniversary edition, packs a bouquet of articles.

This edition of SBS Wiki offers sharp insights into some of the most critical areas in today’s tax and regulatory space. It opens with an in-depth look at Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and their treatment under capital gains and Section 45(5A). The article on Foreign Remittances compares FEMA and Income-tax rules, covering LRS, DTAA benefits, and TDS/TCS compliance. A comparative piece on Income Escaping Assessment examines key shifts between the 1961 Act and the 2025 Bill. This is followed by a review of the major amendments in the Income Tax Bill, 2025, and their implications on tax planning. The edition also introduces UAE Transfer Pricing norms, legal analysis on whether individuals can be called “Directors” without formal board appointment and concludes with an examination of the Supreme Court’s view on whether a Power of Attorney holder qualifies as an executant of a sale deed under the Registration Act.

As always, we hope this anniversary edition also engages and informs you, and we always value your feedback as we strive to make SBS Wiki a trusted resource for professionals.
